Luminz Studio offers studio rental time for performances, rehearsals, workshops (a series of 3 or less classes or monthly events), private classes (3 or less students), for parties and events. Studio time is available on a first come first serve basis and confirmed by advanced payment online or at the studio.
Studio Space Information:
The maximum capacity is 100 people for a party or event and 65 people for most performances though it varies depending on the amount of stage space needed.
The main studio space is 52′ x 20′ with a sloping 16′ – 18′ ceiling height.
A 20′ x 28′ second space used for kitchen, dressing room, office and meeting space.
The studio has two exits.
The building has a freight elevator and plenty of free parking.
Rental Procedures:
* Find open time in the schedule.
* Read all the policies and information pertinent to your rental type.
* Complete and submit rental request form and make payment.
* Your reservation will be confirmed by a listing online once payment is made.
* Luminz will contact you if you are a first time renter or if there are any conflicts.
* Sign in the yellow binder on the desk once you are at the studio.
* Complete a studio rental release form (one time only) found in the binder.
* Plug in your ipod, computer or the CD player. Then turn on speakers in back
* TURN OFF SPEAKERS BEFORE UNPLUGGING YOUR SOUND DEVICE.
* Clean up after yourself.
* Switch lights all the way off and lock the door behind you.
Equipment List:
• For sound, the studio is equipped with two self powered speakers with a cable to plug in an ipod, laptop or the CD player which is provided. The speakers have a 10′ DMX cable connecting them and are mounted on free standing stands.
• The lighting equipment is a 20′ x 20′ square truss for hanging instruments and rigging, three 4 channel dimmers, a 24 channel controller, 12 PAR38 lights (120 watts) and 4 LEKOS (500 watts). The lighting provided is sufficient for a cool or warm general wash only. Two channels are open on the dimmer packs for additional lighting added by the renter. Lighting equipment use fee: $50 with prior permission only.
• The studio has a sprung sub floor and a studio weight marley floor covering.
Floor care information:
The floor must be washed with water only.
No street shoes in the studio.
All chairs used on the floor must have rubber stoppers on the feet.
No tape or water may be used on the exposed sub floor.
• Two 12′ x 4′ x 6″ risers for back row seating.
• A dressing room with couches, a changing area, a large desk space and a mini kitchen including coffee machine, hot & cold water dispenser, fridge and microwave.
• The building’s beams are equipped with many hooks with capacity for aerial apparatus and other rigging.
• There are options for a black space with curtains lowered or a white space with the curtains raised. When curtains are lowered there is a cross over from back stage to the exits. There are black curtains over the windows so that the space can go dark in the day.
• The studio lights are 3 rows of track lighting on separate dimmers.
• The studio has a wall of mirrors that can be covered with curtains if needed.
• Rotating Disco ball. whoo hoo!
• A baby grand piano.
• Two light weight free standing ballet barres.
• Internet access and local phone
Renters have access to the main studio space and all the equipment listed above. Lighting equipment and back room by permission only.
Studio Rental Policies
* All cancellations must be communicated 24 hrs. in advance to receive a refund.
* Renter is responsible for any damage of equipment or space during studio use.
* Leave the studio as clean or cleaner than you found it.
* No storage space unless pre-approved.
* Time slots can not be reserved and held beyond the current class session until the upcoming session class calendar is online unless by special permission.
* Renters are responsible for double checking the rental calendar to ensure their request has been processed.
* Luminz reserves the right to ask for schedule adjustments as classes start up in new sessions.
*Renters must schedule around current classes and previously reserved rehearsal slots found on the schedule.
