A new and exciting artistic entity has been launched in Brattleboro! Luminz Studio is now host to its very own professional caliber dance company called Luminz Dance Theater.
Luminz Dance Theater creates and performs new dance work that combines theatricality, artistry, physicality and spirituality. Their performances are built in a collaborative spirit that brings together artists of many media to invent worlds that are multi-faceted, entertaining and rich in texture and substance. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of both contemporary and early modern dance theater, puppetry, film, music and technology, Luminz Dance Theater performances are engaging and magical to witness.
LDT is debuting with an evening length performance of dance on February 20th at the New England Youth Theater in Brattleboro. This ambitious premiere will introduce new dance to the Southern Vermont community and involve multiple local choreographers, dancers and artists of other media. The program proudly presents new choreography by Aurora Corsano, Meg VanDyck, Pascal Benichou, Christie Clovis and Leah Mutz. The main attraction is a full lenght work danced by the entire company called shadowland which is based on the myth of Orpheus with choreography by Aurora Corsano, set designs by Jana Zeller Bass of Sandglass Theater puppet company, costume design by Alyssa Holmes and Emily Amanna, projection by Dustin Demilio and music mixed and performed live by Hilary Jeffery, Molly Melloan and others.
LDT is engaging the community’s support by offering advertising in our programs, sponsorship options and volunteer positions.

One of Brattleboro’s unique qualities is its great appreciation and support of the arts. If you are interested in being a part of the action and want to donate time there are many opportunities to participate in performances behind the scenes, here are a few of the production jobs that are essential to the smooth running of performances. We offer free admission to performances when you participate by taking any of these tasks:
