The Brattleboro-based stage company tours the U.S. with original productions that combine movement, music, and humor, and brings master instructors in dance, clown, improv & acting to Southern Vermont. Strong Coffee Stage was founded in 2009 by Bronwyn Sims (Producing Director) and Patrick Donnelly (Artistic Director).

For the three weeks in June 2011 the many theater spaces in the Project Artaud building in San Francisco’s Mission district will become home to an outpouring of performance, artistic exchange and cross pollination, panel discussions, and training events open to everyone. This year, 31 innovative theater companies from all over the country will converge in San Francisco from June 7-26 for FoolsFURY’s acclaimed biennial theater festival, co-hosted by Z Space and Theatre of Yugen.

ANTIGONE, a production of Strong Coffee Stage is a new and original two-actor performance of the classicGreek tragedy. Inspired by the writings of Sophocles, Jean Anouilh, Bertolt Brecht, Anne Carson, Jocelyn Clarke,Seamus Heaney and Charles Mee, the story of the headstrong young daughter of Oedipus comes to life amidst an imaginative and startlingly playful landscape.
